The annual Freeport High School academic awards breakfast honored those students, mostly graduating seniors, for their perseverance and achievement with the distribution of certificates and scholarship money. “You’re not here today because of chance. It’s because of your commitment and continued hard work and excellence,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham.

Local dignitaries, including Assemblyman Brian Curran, Nassau County Legislator Laura Curran, and Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg, were on hand to present awards.

“I want to congratulate our students for the fine work they have done over the past three or four years,” said Principal Linda Carter. “We are extremely proud of all of the accolades our students received today.”

The attending administration, faculty and parents showered those being honored with applause before, during and after the awards were presented.
