FHS Welcomes LI Schools for Academic Competition

The high school opened its doors and welcomed more than 900 students from 17 schools on Long Island for the annual Distributive Education Clubs of America Regional Competition.

Freeport students, as well as their competitors, prepared for various contests and showcased their proficiencies in several specialized areas of business study. DECA is an international association of high school and college students and teachers of marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. It develops leaders for careers in several business areas.

Regional competition winners will go on to compete at the state level in early March in Rochester.
