Freeport Schools’ Winter Festival
Of The Arts Begins December 17

A

stunning array of musical performances and art exhibits featuring the talents of Freeport students will begin December 17 as the district hosts its annual Winter Festival of the Arts. Performances will take place at the following schools:

   
Atkinson Elementary School
Monday, December 17

Dodd Middle School
Tuesday, December 18

Freeport High School
Thursday, December 20
 
All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. sharp, doors open at 7 p.m. Musical groups include the mixed and select choruses, concert choir, concert band, wind ensembles, jazz ensembles, orchestras and select orchestras from various schools. Student artwork will be available for viewing in the main lobby on all three nights.

According to Anne-Marie Hudley Simmons, district coordinator of the arts, these concerts will demonstrate the educational progress of each student as well as showcase the talents of over 1,000 young musicians and artists from the Freeport Public Schools.
