·         Introduction of “Mixed Genre”  Task 3 Form, Content and “Guidelines” criteria with focus on class and outside readings Quarters 1, 2, and 3

·         Introduction of poetry devices with emphasis on speaker, tone, simile and metaphor

·         Vocabulary growth and development via reading and listening experiences with emphasis on Romeo and JulietPrentice Hall Gold

·         Selected short works as applicable

·         Major works form among such titles as The Pearl, The Color of My Words, The Autobiography of Misss Jane Pittman, The Odyssey (abridged), A Lesson Before Dying, et al.

-          proceed to English 10R with a sound foundation in “Standards” areas that gives maximum confidence to each in his/her future experiences in ELA and beyond.
