Freeport High School recently welcomed Dwight Miller, Senior Admissions Officer for Harvard College, who conducted an admissions workshop at the school. Guidance counselors from Manhasset, Westbury, East Meadow, Hewlett-Woodmere, and other schools throughout Nassau County, were invited to join the FHS guidance staff to review Harvard's admissions requirements and selection process. "We are delighted to host this event," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Eric L. Eversley, who is a Harvard alumnus, told visitors. "Like you, we are always interested in expanding our knowledge base to enhance our students' competitiveness." |

Miller presented the group with actual case studies that demonstrated the Harvard decision-making process, and gave counselors a chance to discuss both tangible and intangible elements of this prestigious college's application review process.
After the case study session, Miller met with Freeport guidance counselors to review the files of specific Freeport students to identify their qualifications for admission.
The day ended with a special assembly for 253 FHS honors students. Miller spoke to them about admissions requirements, interviewing techniques, recommendations, financial aide and many other aspects of the Harvard admissions process. |
