When he found out that the students at Leo F. Giblyn in Freeport organized a penny drive that raised over $4500 to purchase USO care packages for our troops in Iraq, Army Major Max Moore decided to pay a visit to the school to thank them personally for their fundraising efforts.
Major Moore, who served in Iraq from November 2002 to July 2003, recalled how important it was for him to receive these care packages when he was far from home. "You have no idea how much your gifts will be appreciated by the soldiers in Iraq," he said to the students. |
