Students
at Freeport’s Caroline G. Atkinson
School will partner with Freeport senior citizens to teach them how to
use computers over the next three months.
There will be two free sessions offered, running from 3:30-5 p.m. on
Wednesdays. Session 1 is for beginners and will cover basic computer
operation, setting up the computer, e-mail and the Internet. Session
1 classes are scheduled for April 26 and May 3, 10 and 17. Seniors participating
in the intermediate Session 2 will create a typed document, use a digital
camera and print the pictures and learn to use the Internet safely to
make purchases and find information on favorite topics. Session 2 classes
are scheduled for May 24 and 31, and June 7, 14 and 21.
All of the classes will take place at Atkinson School, 58 West Seaman
Avenue.
Senior citizens can register for either
Session 1, Session 2 or both by calling Nancy Schempp or Joan Holland
in the Freeport Schools Technology Office, 867-8967. Although the schools
are closed for spring recess from April 13-21, please call and leave
a message that includes your name and a callback phone number. Sessions
are limited to 20 participants. |
