FREEPORT, N.Y., August

The fall
season is upon us, and so is the new Course Catalog from the
district’s Adult Education Department — complete with
a multitude of classes to pique everyone’s interest.
Thinking of buying a computer but have no
computer skills? These classes can get you started. Take Computer
Comfort for confidence-building, then move on to Keyboarding, Office,
Word, Excel, Access and Exploring the Internet.
Need a fun exercise class? Try Bone Building
with Jessica Gilbert — a great choice for both men and women.
Stressed? How about a Yoga or Tai Chi Chuan class? Or, strengthen
and sculpt your body with Pilates led by new staff member Francine
Gatto. Bring a friend and do it together! |

Another fun way to stay
fit is through dance. Ballroom Dancing,
held at Bayview Avenue School gym, is always popular. Or, you can whittle
your waist with Belly Dancing. If country music is more your style, a
new addition to the course list is Line Dancing. Pat and Fred Gundel
have a large following, so don’t be disappointed, register early.
Since Freeport is a boater’s paradise, the
Adult Education Program could not leave out the ever-popular Boating
and Marine Captain’s
courses. Sign up today and you’ll be ready to cruise the water
by next summer.
If you're thinking of holiday entertainment planning,
Margaret Panico will teach you to make beautiful dipped strawberries.
They will be the perfect compliment to your table or for gift-giving.
Whether you're a new mom, or you're
thinking of retiring, or you're a loved one's caregiver at home,
the Adult Education Department has a course for you. However, if there’s
a course you are interested in, but did not see it in the Fall Catalog,
it’s
not too late to add the course to the Spring Catalog.
To register for
classes, or make a suggestion, call the Adult Education Office at 867-5314,

The Freeport
Adult Continuing/Community Education office is located at 235 N. Ocean
Avenue. Classes are held at Freeport High
School, as well as Atkinson School and Bayview Avenue School.
