From a bassoon player at Atkinson to sopranos at Freeport High School, 43 outstanding young musicians earned “All-County” status this year. Honorees were selected based on scores in the annual New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) auditions.
“The all-county experience provides an opportunity for the most accomplished young musicians in Nassau County to rehearse and perform together under the batons of noted conductors,” says Charles Puricelli, district coordinator for the arts, intercultural arts and enrichment. “Students take great pride in participating.”
