he incredible mural painted by
John Green (class of 1993) in the music wing had severe water damage. I
asked Melvin Green (class of 2007) if he was interested in restoring the
mural.
Melvin did a wonderful job adding on to what John had done so beautifully
in 1993. Melvin painted in the new FHS faculty (myself, Ms. Santo, Mr.
Friedman (band) and Mr. Young (computers/software). Mr. Martin was purposely
placed in the middle wearing all white. In the mirror behind this year's
faculty are some of the wonderful teachers of the past including:
Mr. Carbuto, Mr. Turner and Mr. Koski.
The music mural is now fully restored and both Greens were a part of
this wonderful project.
John Green (was tenor in Select) currently
works for Disney and Dreamworks. He specifically does the Disney Adventures.
He does the last page of that publication. You can find that in any
supermarket. John also has done freelance work for Dreamworks
and has created his own comic book.
Melvin (a bass in mixed) is going to Columbia as a pre-med student.
He wants to be a pediatrician... but he will still minor in art.
