FHS WINS THE L.I. CHALLENGE

Senator Fuschillo Celebrates Reading with
Archer Street School Kindergarteners

Ms. Yvonne Ladson’s kindergarten class received a first-hand lesson about the New York Senate recently as Senator Charles Fuschillo read “House Mouse, Senate Mouse,” during his visit to the Archer Street School. He visited the school to help celebrate Read Across America, the nation's largest reading celebration.
To help the children understand his job, the senator compared the Senate Chambers to a classroom. He told them that there were 62 students in his classroom and that his classroom was in the state capitol of Albany. All the children received a coloring book from the senator which told the story of the Senate in pictures.

Senator Fuschillo reads to Ms. Ladson’s kindergarten class at Archer Elementary School.
