Help Choose the Next Honoree

FREEPORT, N.Y., April 3, 2008

In every graduating class there are those who go on to achieve big things. Freeport High School is no exception. There are Nobel Prize winners, CEO’s, scientists, football professionals, singers, writers, educators, psychologists, lawyers, government officials and other impressive professions among our alumni. These people offer something very valuable to our students today. …they are positive role models.

Twice in the last ten years more than a dozen former graduates who achieved impressive heights professionally have been honored on the Wall of Fame. Once again it is time to choose the next wave of graduates to be cited for their accomplishments. A committee is being formed under chairperson and School Board member Debbie Mule. This committee is charged with accepting nominations and choosing the honoree as well as everything from stuffing envelopes to fundraising.

The event will take place in the fall of 2008 as part Homecoming football game. If you are a Freeport High School graduate, a resident of Freeport, an employee of the district, or a long-standing member of the business community, we invite you to join the committee. Please call Estelle Weiss, Director of Adult Education at 516-867-5314, or e-mail your name, phone number and affiliation to . You will be sent an application to return asking what responsibility you can commit to as part of the entire process.

We look forward to a enthusiastic and dedicated committee.
