| Six Freeport High School students have recently completed an
internship with Logicon, a Division of Northrop-Grumman Corporation.
In celebration of their accomplishments, a graduation celebration
was held. Students Martine Alexandre, Brandon Dengler, Michael Drew,
Johan Ortiz, Akkie Thompson, and Wellesley Roberts each received
congratulations and a certificate of completion from John Loonan,
who manages the Bethpage site for Logicon.
These students trained with Logicon employees Dr. Bob Ellinger,
Fran Mulholland, and Phil Rizzardi over the past several months
in areas such as Web design, document formatting, and computer repair.
Logicon's Carol Lanzilotti helped arrange this year's internship
with Freeport's Director of Workforce Preparation Marilyn Stuzin.
Attending the graduation were Freeport High School Assistant Principal
Maurice Grant and School Board President Richard Ellerbe.
Mr. Ellerbe commented on the accomplishments of these graduates.
"It's programs like these that keep our students focused on the
contributions that they can make to the community and to their own
future," Mr. Ellerbe said. "I'm glad that I could be here to witness
such a proud moment for our schools."
