Students from Leo F. Giblyn Elementary School, Archer Street Elementary School and Caroline G. Atkinson Intermediate School visited the Freeport Memorial Library to meet Peter Lerangis, an author of more than 170 books including nine New York Times’ bestsellers.

He is a former Freeport resident who attended Bayview Avenue School, Atkinson, J.W. Dodd Middle School and was Freeport High School Class of 1973 valedictorian. His incredibly popular young adult books include, “The Max Tilt series,” “The Seven Wonders” Series,” “The 39 Clues Series,” “The 39 Clues: Cahills vs. Vespers Series,” “Drama Club Series,” and more.

Mr. Lerangis spoke to the students about his journey in becoming a successful author and provided insight on what the writing process is like for him. Students came to the library prepared with many questions about Mr. Lerangis’ life in Freeport and his career as a successful author.
