Arrive
at your assigned bus stop five minutes early.

Walk to your bus stop on the sidewalk or along the side of the
street at a point at least 5 giant steps away from the curb.

Stand at least 5 giant steps (10 feet) away from the edge of
the street.

Be sure to listen to any adults supervising at the bus stop.

Behave yourself at the bus stop.

Wait until the bus stops completely, the doors open, and the
driver says it is okay before stepping onto the bus.

Never, ever, run behind, on the side, or in front of
the school bus.

Be sure the bus driver can see you, and you can see the bus
driver.

Stop at the edge of the bus and look left-right-left before
crossing.

Tell the bus driver if you drop something beside the bus. Should
you try to pick it up, the bus driver may not see you and drive
away.

Take a firm hold of the handrail and get onto the bus.

Be careful that clothing with drawstrings and book bags with
straps or dangling objects do not get caught in the handrail
or door when getting on or off the bus.

Never push while getting on or off the bus.

When you get on the bus, go right to your seat and sit quietly
face forward, fully in the seat.

Never stand on a moving bus.

Never stick anything out the window arms, legs,
head, book bags, etc.

Be sure to go straight home right after getting off the bus,
unless you have permission from your parents to do otherwise.

Obey the bus driver and do not distract him or her.
