Archer- Project ACES 
Archer Street Elementary students and staff took part in the annual Project ACES, raising $1,000 for the Freeport Educational Foundation. The event brought students of all grade levels outside for a fun workout to celebrate physical fitness and school spirit.  

Atkinson- Career Day  
Sixth-grade students gathered in the gymnasium to meet professionals from a wide range of career fields, including engineers, FBI agents, pilots, historic artifact curators and musicians. The career day event gave students the opportunity to explore future possibilities and connect their current interests to potential career paths. 

Bayview-Spirit Week  
Bayview Avenue School celebrated Spirit Week with fun-themed days like Twin Day and School Spirit Day, bringing students together in joyful unity. The festivities coincided with Teacher Appreciation Day, making it a week filled with pride and community spirit. 

Columbus- Discovery Day 
Columbus students launched into a world of exploration during the school’s annual Discovery Day on May 15. The exciting, space-themed event gathered students in the gymnasium, where they participated in a hands-on activities like rover races and a comet toss. They also sorted rocks and engaged in other interactive missions designed to spark curiosity about outer space.  

Dodd- Mental Health and Wellness Fair 
Dodd Middle School welcomed Mental Health Awareness Month with their annual Mental Health and Wellness fair on May 2. More than 20 local businesses and organizations participated in the fair alongside interactive activities like a painting table, bracelet making, a photo booth, a hygiene education table and a dancing station, all aimed at supporting their mental health and wellness. 

Giblyn- International Day 
Giblyn came alive with its celebration of global cultures on May 15 during its annual International Day luncheon. The school’s fourth grade tradition honors the rich cultural backgrounds of Giblyn students and staff while inspiring messages of acceptance, resilience and unity. The celebration concluded with a much-anticipated international food tasting, where students enjoyed traditional dishes from countries around the globe. 

High School- NHS Senior Recognition Night 

New Visions – Walk-a-Thon 
New Visions participated in their annual walkathon to raise funds for the Freeport Educational Foundation and student-focused initiatives within the school. This year’s event raised more than $1,500 with its fundraising efforts and had students and staff walking eight laps, or one mile, around the school.
