The District is aware of emails circulating regarding the recent decision to reassign Ms. Patty Langan to another school location. Decisions involving personnel are never taken lightly, and in this instance the rationale applies to Ms. Langan specifically. Because this is a personnel matter, the district is limited in what can properly be shared publicly. Ms. Langan has been fully informed of the reasons for the reassignment by the Interim Superintendent, who consulted with District counsel and she is free to share that information with anyone she chooses. If Ms. Langan authorizes the District to release those details, we are prepared to do so.
I want to reassure the Freeport community that every decision made by our leadership team is grounded in our responsibility to safeguard the interests of our students, staff, and families.
