Apple STEM Day Turns Giblyn Students Into Scientists

The students from Leo F. Giblyn Elementary School learned to think like scientists during an apple STEM Day.
Using various types of apples, first grade students measured the apples, measured themselves and other objects using apples, determined if apples sink or float and discovered what items were heavier or lighter than an apple. Students also explored how to preserve an apple by adding lemon juice.
To conclude the apple STEM Day, each first grade student created a three-dimensional apple book that included their scientific apple discoveries.
