Under a sunny sky, the students of Archer Street Elementary School gathered outside to participate in the school’s annual Project ACES (All Children Exercise Simultaneously) on May 23, raising $1,100 for the Freeport Educational Foundation.
This event brought students from all grade levels onto the school playground for a fun and energetic workout. Physical education teachers Brooke McKenna and Allison Raimondo led the group with stretches and following everyone danced to “The Cha Cha Slide.” Students then joined a hula hoop contest, with third grader Briella Castro earning the top spot.
Closing the afternoon activities, students and staff paraded around the school holding handmade signs in support of the event while enjoying the spring sunshine.
Each May, Archer Street School hosts its Project ACES fundraiser to promote physical activity and celebrate both National Physical Fitness and Sports Month and National Physical Education Week.
