Dodd Middle School welcomed Mental Health Awareness Month with their annual Mental Health and Wellness fair on May 2. The day-long event provided students with valuable access to information, resources and activities aimed at supporting their mental health and wellness.

“It is imperative our students know they have the support they need when it comes to their mental health and wellness,” said Stacie Gustavo-Weaver, physical education teacher and fair coordinator.

More than 20 local businesses and organizations participated in the fair alongside interactive activities like a painting table, bracelet making, a photo booth, a hygiene education table, a dancing station and more. These activities encouraged students to explore new and healthy ways to care for their mental and emotional well-being.

“We are so thankful to the local businesses and our internal clubs and activities for participating in the annual Mental Health and Wellness Fair at Dodd,” said Christopher Porciello, principal. “Ours students’ success goes far beyond academics and this event ensures they have access to the tools and resources they need to achieve their goals.”

The annual Mental Health and Wellness fair is one way Dodd Middle School remains committed to nurturing not only academic growth but the emotional and mental resilience that helps students thrive in all aspects of their lives.
