Welcome!

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you and your family to another wonderful year at Columbus Avenue Early Childhood Center. As principal, I am honored to continue serving this remarkable school community and to partner with you during such an important milestone in your child’s life.

The early childhood years are filled with discovery, growth, and endless possibilities. As our students begin their educational journey, we are committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment where every child feels safe, valued, supported, and inspired to learn. At Columbus, we celebrate each child's unique strengths and recognize that every student has the potential to achieve amazing things.

Our dedicated teachers and staff are eager to build meaningful relationships with both students and families. Together, we will create a strong foundation for academic success, social-emotional development, and a lifelong love of learning. We believe that children learn best when they feel connected, confident, and excited to come to school each day.

While our focus is on learning and growth, we also know that the most memorable school experiences are filled with joy, laughter, friendship, and fun. We look forward to creating countless special memories with your children as they explore, play, learn, and grow throughout the year.

At the heart of our work is a strong partnership between home and school. We value the trust you place in us and are committed to maintaining open communication, collaboration, and an open-door policy throughout the school year. Together, we can ensure that every child has the support they need to thrive.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's early educational experience. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to a school year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and joyful moments that will last a lifetime.

Warmly,

Johanna Medina-Bowers

A strong partnership between families and schools helps students thrive. One of the best ways to become involved in your child's educational experience is by joining our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA plays an important role in supporting students, teachers, and school programs while helping to build a strong sense of community within our school.

By becoming a PTA member, parents and guardians have the opportunity to collaborate with school staff, share ideas, and contribute to activities that enhance the educational experience for all students. Members can attend meetings, volunteer at PTA-sponsored events such as book fairs, and support initiatives that help strengthen our school community. Join our PTA today!
