On March 6, during the Board of Education meeting, Board President Maria Jordan-Awalom announced the Board is undertaking the important task of selecting the next Superintendent of Schools following the resignation in November of Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kishore Kuncham. Dr. Kuncham’s retirement is effective Aug. 20, 2024.
“I would like to once again congratulate Dr. Kuncham on his retirement and express our gratitude to him for his 30 years of dedicated service,” Ms. Jordan-Awalom said.
To aid in the search, the Board has secured the services of Perkins Consulting Group LLC, an international education consulting and search firm. As part of the search process, the Perkins Consulting Group LLC will be soliciting opinions from the Freeport community on the following meeting dates:
Monday, March 18: In-Person meeting at Caroline G. Atkinson School, from 6-7 p.m.
